I am happy to invite you to attend LUMEN 2009, the world’s premier STEMI meeting, to be held February 26–28, 2009, at the Loew’s Hotel in Miami Beach.

We expect LUMEN to become a one-stop, STEMI educational rendezvous for paramedics, ED staff, critical care nurses, cardiovascular laboratory technicians and nurses, internists, general practitioners, hospitalists, intensivists, clinical and interventional cardiologists, cardiac and vascular surgeons, and hospital administrators.
For LUMEN 2009, I have sought the knowledge of world experts to create a robust CME program — four luminary co-directors, each a respective giant in interventional cardiology, D2B processes, emergency medicine, and cardiovascular nursing. The President of the American College of Cardiology, Dr. Douglas Weaver, will deliver the Presidential Address. The keynote speakers for LUMEN 2009 are Dr. Martin B. Leon, Dr. William O’Neill, and Dr. Alice Jacobs, Past President of the American Heart Association.
Other highlights include the STEMI Processes Symposium, a session where the world’s best five STEMI programs will be presented by their directors — the first time this is happening at a single meeting. In addition, LUMEN 2009 has as many as 12 innovative and pragmatic workshops where attendees can master techniques to achieve D2B times for STEMI interventions. Finally, there are two great debates on the two most critical questions in STEMI interventions — which type of stent to use and whether primary PCI should be done only at tertiary centers.
At LUMEN 2009, we are committed to improving STEMI care globally. Through this powerful meeting, we will provide attendees with the educational tools that will help them improve both the STEMI process and the STEMI procedure at their respective institutions.
Come and join us February 26–28, 2009, in Miami’s South Beach and learn all about STEMI interventions!
